# Configure audience and settings

> Choose distribution, demographics, language, closing date, and the anonymity threshold.

Audience and settings determine who can respond and how safely the results can be analyzed.

## Choose a distribution method

**Personal invitations** create individual tokens for employees. They support delivery and completion tracking without requiring a public link.

<Note>
  A survey invitation opens the respondent flow only. It does not create a dashboard account or assign a workspace role. Dashboard access is managed separately from **Team**. See [Team access and roles](/en/workspace/roles).
</Note>

**Shared links** are useful for broad distribution. Because there is no fixed invitation list, participation should be interpreted differently from an invite-based response rate.

## Configure demographics

Select only dimensions that will support a real analysis decision. Each additional filter increases the chance of producing groups below the anonymity threshold.

## Set the response window

Choose a closing date that gives employees enough time while keeping the feedback period focused. Communicate the date before launch.

## Choose language and experience

Preview the supported respondent languages and make sure instructions are understandable to the intended audience.

<Info>
  When you set the language of the survey, this reflects on the action plan AI results language, and this will be the default language shown for the employee (they can still switch languages via the language switcher)
</Info>

## Set the anonymity threshold

The threshold is the minimum response count required before a segment can be displayed. Higher thresholds provide stronger protection but may hide more detail.

<Warning>
  Do not lower a threshold simply to expose a small team’s result. Combine segments or collect more responses instead.
